It is with a great deal of pleasure that I release my latest CD Simple Beauty today.  . I’ve never been happier about an album and I hope you will enjoy it.

The idea behind this all-instrumental collection began with four ancient Celtic melodies I learned from legendary Irish musician Micheal O’Domhnaill. After allowing these tunes to marinate for awhile I was inspired to compose my own tunes cut from the same Celtic cloth. This 14 track album is a celebration of life’s simple beauty including family, friends, pets, natural landscapes and laughter.

My dog Rufus inspired the first track on the album. My daughter Lauren Marie, who is getting married this month, is honored on track four. Trips to New Zealand and the Pacific Northwest are also celebrated along with songwriter “Cascade Johnny” Gummoe who kindled my interest in music as a teenager.

I’ve put together a series of slideshows featuring the songs from the album and my photography. I’ve also enlisted the help of some internationally-acclaimed photographers for several of the tracks. We will begin releasing a new slideshow each week on www.wral.com beginning the week of September 6.
